Program Audience :

Public/Visitors of all ages experiencing the Travelling exhibit.

Program Overview : Educate Inspire Act

People would have seen in the exhibit and would understand;
•chimp natural history and how fascinating they are.
•primates and our place as part of the great apes.
•Jane’s story at Gombe and the research.

This would have brought the vivitor to « The Future », Jane’s message.

« We are all individuals that matter and we as individuals can make a difference. »





Make connections to;
Websites - Jane Goodall Institute- Chimp
sanctuaries, Roots
and Shoots, Bush meat trade, projects

conservation projects.

Produce a Teacher’s Guide –In conjunction with Science Museum of Minnesota.

Actions that people can do : •examples of community projects
•examples of projects around the world
•examples of what individuals can get involved with
•how to connect with Roots and Shoots and other JGI projects.

Section of this part to have a bullettin board highlighting the organizations and projects going on in that community that the exhibit is in.
•how to connect with people in your community

TV Monitor : Jane with an inspiring message.


Program Goals : Visitors will;

•understand how chimpanzees relate to their every day life,
•appreciate what we have learnt from chimpanzees,
•relate what they have learnt to everyday life,
•be empowered to act in their own communities in whatever level they can.

First half of October, first draft.
Second half of October, Review with teachers at OSC the Teacher’s guide.
November /December, second draft
January, final draft.

•research how Science North’s website can be used.
•develop activities for individuals and groups.
•identify resources; books, pamphlets, organizations

November, decide which projects and secure photos and video.
December, implement final version, finalize final graphics.

Roots and Shoots Board
August through October, identify photos and examples from around N.
America, Roots and shoots handouts (what is it? How to get involved? How
to start up?
November, implement, finalize graphics.

Chimp Sanctuaries and Adoption Programs
August through October, obtain photos and graphics (first draft).
November, finalize story.

Commitment Mural
Identify how a mural is to be used and its design.
People to sign their name and their own idea of what they can do to improve the world around them.
They receive a small card with their personalized commitment on it as well as the JGI address and contact nearest them.

Jane’s Message
September, identify Jane’s message.
October , film her in Toronto.
November edit final message, identify the size of TV Monitor, press DVD.
