Jane Goodall Educator Institute Goals
- Pool our collective expertise to contribute to the educational impact and
program opportunities for the Jane Goodall film.
- Explore the value, scope, and implications of primate research to become
the "program resource" for your institution during the film's venue.
- Strengthen the connection between the film, your local community, and
your existing programs and exhibits.
- Work in teams to design promotional, programmatic, and/or educational
action plans to support the Jane Goodall film at your institution.
Key to the goals of this institute (final goal above), each participant was
asked to design a plan for how "Jane Goodall's Wild Chimpanzees" could be
supported by new or adapted programs and/or exhibits in their institutions.
The group received time to plan the use of the film at their institution
and each participant was asked to write an Action Plan. Based on an Action
Plan Template and in active collaboration/feedback cycles, participants
planned direct use of Jane Goodall themes in programs for use during the
film venue. The availability of these plans on this website allows other
informal sites that will host the film access to a valuable resource for
planning their own programs to support public/school education on primate
topics.
